Kenya part II - The farm. Team Buckley return!

We are so fortunate to have experienced an unforgettable time in Kenya earlier this year at the Familia House girl's rescue home in Kisumu. Through generous donations and tremendous support, we managed to not only construct 3 classrooms, but also provide the girls with a much-needed washing machine and additional amenities to make a difference in their lives.

The girls all live together on the property, tending to a garden where they grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Additionally, there is a small farm housing a variety of livestock, such as goats, sheep, cows, chickens, and ducks. However, the farm is not meeting its potential and they are losing livestock due to sickness and poor housing conditions, not to mention the lack of knowledge and resources needed to properly care for and manage the farm.

This brings us to Kenya Part II: The Farm. Our aim is to return to Familia House in January of next year, where we will finance our own trips and lodgings, yet call on your kind donations to support the buying of necessary materials to build a new farm, such as cattle sheds, animal food stores, and secure shelters and pens, that will help to keep the animals healthy and productive. The farm will enable them to be self-sufficient, providing the necessary food for survival, while also allowing for a potential income.
