Hello, my name is Riley McGraw and I'm a Boy Scout of Troop 100 in the process of a service project for the Kenton Women's Village.

The village, located in Kenton, Portland, is a transitional housing unit for previously homeless women founded in 2016. It was originally built with 14 single person houses and a small covered space for eating and having communal meetings.

The goal of my project is to make a new outdoor communal meeting area. The original indoor area was much too small for all 14 residents and its managers, and too hot to be comfortable during the summer for its residents. The new area will be a welcome addition to the Kenton community, and I hope to be able to raise $1,000 before September 25th in order to complete the project by October 21st. All of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go to buying materials to build two 8 foot tables, 4 benches, and a canopy to cover it all. Any leftover funds that aren't used to buy materials will be given to the village for anything else they need. On the first of the year, 2019, the village will be required to move to a new location, but all parts of this project will move with them. Any contributions you can give will be much appreciated on the path to improve the quality of life at Kenton.
