Kent Family Memorial Scholarship

The Van Kent Memorial Scholarship was awarded from 2006-2016 to a deserving Midlothian High School graduate. Christi's sons wish to restart the scholarship fund in honor of their mother and the Kent family. The Kent family has a deep appreciation for the importance of educating young people. Van volunteered at Mountain Peak Elementary for many years, serving as a one-on-one reading and math tutor for countless students. Christi preached the importance of higher education to her sons and believed it was paramount to independence and self-reliance. She single-handedly put her sons through college. The Kent family will use funds to help deserving students pursue careers in education, agriculture, and music. All funds raised beyond the goal will be included in the fund.
