Family and Friends:
Kensleigh was recently diagnosed with a rare and complex vascular malformation in her brain called an A/V fistula. Arteriovenous fistulas are abnormal connections between arteries and veins where the capillary bed is missing.
Unfortunately, it has been determined that Kensleigh was likely born this way and has been in continuous pain since the beginning of her life.
Treatment options recommended by Pediatric Neurosurgeons at Gillette Children’s Center and Interventional Radiologists at Regions Hospital required her to undergo immediate intervention by embolizing different areas of Kensleigh’s brain to occlude these AVMs and redirect the blood flow in multiple phases due to the complexity of her condition.
The surgeries will likely give Kensleigh a better quality of life post treatment and there will be continued monitoring and follow ups to Kensleigh’s procedures as the AVMs are likely to occur in other organs as she grows.
Please keep Kensleigh in your thoughts and prayers and consider donating or joining us at the Cast Iron on Friday August 18th, 2023, from 6-9pm while we host a silent auction, bag tournament,(weather permitting), and taco bar in hopes of raising funds to cover the costs of Kensleigh’s rising medical bills.
