Help Patty Kick Cancer's Butt

August 14, 2020... a day that may have brought many people happiness, however brought sadness to our family greater than one's heart can endure. This is the day we found out that my mom, Patty, has osteosarcoma. This is a very aggressive form of bone cancer, however it was not found until it protruded out of her spine and engulfed the nerve of her right arm causing her excruciating pain. After her first round of chemo, she became severely dehydrated and unable to consume any foods due to pain in her throat. While in the hospital she suffered several mini strokes causing her speech, walking,  and memory to be distorted. She went to a rehabilitation center where she gained so much strength while rebuilding her speech and her walking. She is currently on her 4th round of chemo. She is extremely weak and the littlest things will exhaust her but she doesn't let it slow her down when she is with her grandkids... they are her world and her fuel to fight against this cancer.

My mom is one of the most amazing people in my life. She will do anything to make people happy and smile. She will always give till she has nothing left, yet she will never ask for the help herself. So I am taking this chance to ask for the help for her. During this COVID crisis we are unable to put on a benefit for her. As much as she would love to see everyone and bury her head in your chest with her big, loving hugs... we feel that it is best for her to avoid large gatherings.

In the midst of finding out what her treatment plan entailed, we were given the opportunity to purchase a house across the street for her. My mom and I have always believed that "everything happens for a reason" and we also believe that Uncle Jim is our guardian angel watching over us. We had talked for many hours and many days about having her closer to her only grandkids. She and I strongly believe that happiness is the best healer... and she is most happy watching her grandkids grow up. After purchasing the house, mom got weaker from the chemo which made us realize that the house was not suited for her needs. We have been shaping this house to what she needs and what she deserves.

There are no words to express our gratitude for the thoughts, prayers, and love you have all shown my mom and our family. Any monetary contributions would help lesson the financial burden she has acquired and may attain in the future. We love you all and appreciate the continued prayers.
