I found Keno (formerly Louise) days after losing my last rescue, Maci, to terminal lung cancer. It was quick, and I wasn't looking for another dog, but then I saw an urgent post asking if anyone could help. Keno was on the "Kill list," and was days away from being euthanized. On top of that, he had a broken leg; the extent of the break was unknown at the time as the shelter that had him would not disclose the severity. After seeing the X-rays, it is tragic he sat there for 2 months in this condition.

Unfortunately, at this point, our vet is recommending amputation due to the severity of the break and because it went without proper treatment for so long. Surgery is still not out of the question but will be equally as expensive.

After the expenses incurred with Maci, we're not in the position to be able to fully pay to get Keno the treatment he deserves.

I am not comfortable asking for handouts. But, many people mentioned they would like to help. So here we go.

Any money collected and not used will be sent to the rescue that helped me pull Keno and give him a chance at a new life.
