Keno Needs Your Help for a New Liver

Donation protected
Humbly and respectfully I share this with you all.

For the past few years, I started having a lot of abdominal pain. I looked at it like maybe I drank too much the night or ate something I should not have. When I really started to worry was when I began to pass out at work. Over time the black outs came more frequently. I knew it was time to go to see my doctor.

I went to my doctor sometime in mid 2024 about what was going on. He set up to have blood work and scans done look further into the issue. The results from the testing revealed that I had a fatty liver. That was my chance to stop what I was doing and reverse course. I failed to do so.

In February of 2025 I was placed in the ICU at WakeMed. It was day 3 that I was able to gather myself and realize what was going on. I could not remember the first 2 days in the hospital. It was as if I dreamed it all. That's when I realized I might have Mental Health issues I needed to look into and address. I had more blood work and scans performed. As a result of those tests, I was told I have jaundice and pancreatitis. That's what was causing all the pain. There was something thing else they found; I had liver disease. Cirrhosis to be exact. I tried to stay positive. That was until the doctor came a few days later to tell me I needed a liver transplant. I didn't hear much of what she said after that. I fell into deep depression. I went from 220lbs to 160lb. I was so weak. After 3wks I was discharged on March 5th, 2025. I could barely sit up on the side of the bed, walking was not an option. The doctors recommend physical therapy. I now have physical therapy at home twice a week for several weeks . I'm learning to walk again and that takes time.

The reason I am sharing this is because I could use your help. It took a lot of courage and putting aside my pride to do so. I have next nothing left. My family and friends do what they can, and I am super grateful for that. It was recommended that I start a GoFundMe to tell everyone at one time instead of sending a bunch of e-mails
and text. I have begun filling out the necessary paperwork to receive assistance from the state but that takes time. Honestly, I'm afraid...terrified. I want to watch my grandson grow. I want to tell him what I have learned in life. I want to walk my daughter down the aisle next year.

So again, family and friends, I could really use your help. Donate what you can to my GoFundMe. Any amount is appreciated. Every donation will go to medical bills and monthly household expenses. Nothing but love to all of you. This was a very hard thing to do but very necessary.

Thank you
