Kenny's retirement gift

The day is fast approaching for Kenny's retirement :(

Kenny will be leaving SFC on the 26th September after 11 years of service.

Kenny joined SFC at the time of college regionalisation when SFC hired sector experts to develop our policies and understanding of the college sector. Before Kenny joined SFC there was no ‘College Leaver Destinations’ and one of his first jobs was to work with the sector to give us a consistent understanding of student destinations across the country. The next job was to get to grips with improving the FES returns for colleges. Kenny has worked with the sector to collect fuller student data than before and has improved the quality of returns year on year. A great achievement under any circumstances but all the more so when you consider the budget he worked with.

Kenny worked with SFC to develop our college PIs before he joined SFC and has been responsible for producing the college PI report for most years since joining SFC. He worked with the sector to introduce the student satisfaction survey.

Perhaps his greatest achievement has been working with the sector to deliver more timely data returns. The quarterly FES collections were introduced smoothly and at little cost and now give us early insights into recruitment patterns to help inform our funding decisions and policies. His greatest trick has been to achieve all of this and have the respect of the college sector who value his friendship, advice and expertise.
