Kenny Garrett Medical & Recovery
On Monday, August 1st, while making a delivery through Colorado as a long-haul truck driver, Kenny suffered what he thought was a heart attack that resulted in emergency surgery to repair a torn aorta. The repair was successful but extensive and took its toll on him. He was sedated and intubated for several days and remained in ICU for the next 5 weeks. While in ICU he had a stroke and continues to have problems with low blood pressure and oxygen and a few other issues that will require additional surgery and a lengthy recovery.
Kenny lives just north of Fort Worth, Texas, and this happening out of state has been so difficult. It's made his recovery thus far more challenging since he's alone, and heartbreaking for our family that we can't be there more to help him. Kenny is a fighter, though, and doing his best to keep a positive attitude. Something as simple as eating has been a real challenge, but he keeps trying and pushes through, knowing he needs to get his nutrition level up to have the next surgery so he can come home.
All funds will be directly used to help Kenny. He has a few bills that need attention since he isn't working, but more importantly, so he won't be alone and we can be there to help him, transportation to get him home when the time comes, and for his care once he is home.
Please keep him in your prayers. Knowing so many care has been a real comfort.
