Kenny Carman's Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Kenna and Kenny is my dad.

If you know my dad, you know what a one-of-a-kind person he is. If you see him out, he is likely on his lawn mower or four-wheeler with a cooler strapped to it wearing his favorite camouflage or neon orange shirt. He is a very soft-hearted man that loves spending time in Kingswood, cooking, making others laugh, gardening, and doing pretty much anything outdoors.

Yes, I am well aware of the situation at hand, and I have already thought out a million scenarios in my head of what people may think of me making a gofundme for my dad. I am not here to convince you not to cast your judgment onto others, I'm just here to ask for support for my dad and briefly explain what has occurred.

In 2016, my father was diagnosed with Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a rare form of brain cancer, in which he was given 3-4 years to live and had to have a portion of the front of his brain cut out to remove the tumor. My father has deeply struggled with that along with fighting many other inner demons which meant his substance abuse also increased in the time period from then until now.
Flash forward to now - On the evening of Monday, April 3rd my father was brought into the emergency room of his hometown after severe head pain and lack of control over the right side of his body. They found he had a buildup of blood and spinal fluid in his brain so that hospital had him flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital where he has remained since. During his time here, they have done countless tests and scans; one of which found possible small tumors growing on his brain around the area in which his old tumor was cut out. He has had to remain on a ventilator and heavily sedated since being admitted to UofL because he continues to have countless seizures, rapid rises/drops in heart rate and blood pressure, and they have yet to figure out where the blood and spinal fluid is coming from or why it is happening at all. The doctors have told me that at this point, they are taking things "hour by hour and day by day" with his condition.

This brings me to my point. If my father does end up waking up, your donations will go towards all medical expenses as well as rehabilitation expenses and possible long-term care expenses (depending on the severity of the cognitive and physical damage the hemorrhage has caused.) God forbid, if things do end up taking a turn for the worst, your donations will be used for funeral expenses. I hope that you can find it in your heart to help not only him, but me, my younger brothers, and the rest of my family in this very difficult time of our lives. If there are any additional funds left over, I will be donating them to the SAFE Project for substance abuse awareness and to the American Brain Tumor Association.

Thank you
