Kenny and Iva's House Fire Recovery

Donation protected

Iva had an appointment yesterday at Baptist Hospital due to her ongoing brain cancer recovery. While Kenny was at the appointment with Iva, they received the devastating news that their home had caught fire. Thankfully no one or their little pup Gracie was injured during the event, however parts of their home is severely damaged. This catastrophic event has placed additional stress and hardship on their already fragile situation. Iva and Kenny need any financial assistance and support as they recover during this especially difficult time.  Thanks for your support.

A bit of backstory on what happened prior to the house fire:

On February 19, Iva Rhyne started out her day without knowing that the events that followed would be life changing. She experienced a traumatic event  resulting in emergency transport to Baptist Hospital. After many tests, a team of doctors learned that Iva had developed a brain tumor which would require surgery to determine the next steps.

Iva underwent a successful biopsy and soon found out that the tumor was cancerous and would require another surgery along with radiation and chemotherapy. Iva was ready to fight this battle and went through 6 weeks of intensive radiation and chemotherapy  that took place daily at Baptist Hospital. Iva has been strong through this entire process.

Initially, things were going well, but as the treatments continued, she was left with major weakness throughout her body resulting from the treatments and medications she is required to take. Her body was weak and after multiple stays at Baptist and her doctors prescribed inpatient physical therapy at Trinity Ridge which provided limited improvement.  She stayed at Trinity Ridge for 1 month when she and her husband, Kenneth Rhyne, made the decision to bring her home. This decision required them to make accommodations to their home, including having to purchase medical equipment to facilitate her needs. This, along with Kenny taking time off of work to be with Iva every step of the way has created financial hardship for them as they work towards Iva’s road to recovery. Iva is glad to be at home and is asking for any financial support you can send their way. They appreciate any and all support, prayers, thoughts and well wishes!!! Thank you in advance from the bottom of their hearts!
