On January 26th Kenneth had a heart attack. Once he arrived he found out he had suffered one the day before as well. After several attempts to fix his condition with less evasive methods he was informed he had heart failure on January 30th. He will remain in the hospital at least through the February 5th as they decide what to do. (Look to the updates for progress)
At this point the recovery is going to be up to 130 days. As most of you know, life doesn’t stop just because of health issues or other hardships. That’s a long time to go without being at work. Bills don’t take a day off and when you own your own home the upkeep does not wait for you to recover. On top of all that he has no insurance for all of this as he had recently just started a new job. My hope is we can raise enough money to ease some of the added stress that comes with these things. I would like Ken and Sheryl to feel some relief from those pressures so they can focus on Ken’s recovery.
After consulting with Ken he just would like to be able to pay his bills for several months as he’s off work. At this point he doesn’t even know if he will ever be able to return to work. He is planning on worrying about all the medical expenses once he feels like he’s back on his feet, if that happens. He has a mortgage, utilities, cost of living (food, home upkeep, etc) and also quite a bit of traveling to and from the hospital (100 miles round trip) once he’s released. The goal we are trying to reach reflects this. The average cost of living in Washington is at the low end $2k a month and at the high end over $7k so as you can see we are being conservative with our goal. On top of all this he had spent about half of 2016 unemployed, finally getting employment again a few months ago which had already put a strain on he and Sheryl.
All proceeds (less the fees associated with GoFundMe) will go directly to Ken and Sheryl as they have set up their banking info for the transfers. When you get your confirmation after you give it will confirm your funds will be going to Kenneth and not me. Please feel free to message me on FB or send me a message through the option on this page.
Kenneth is currently at Providence Regional Medical Center 1700 13th St Everette, WA 98201 and the phone number is [phone redacted] for those of you who would prefer to send a card. You can call the hospital to confirm his room number (as he’s been moved a couple times) and the number to the gift shop is on their website. ****Update*** Kenneth was released on February 3rd and able to go home. However, there is still alot of unanswered questions. Please follow the updates on this page for more details.
Please, take a moment and give whether it be $1 or $100, every little bit helps. As a team we can make a difference. If you know Ken at all, you know he’d do it for you.
