Kenneth Nave's medical and living expenses

Hello all,

I'm Bill Buckley and I'm fundraising for Ken Nave' - a dear friend who has enriched lives of all who have had the pleasure of his friendship. He and his family now stand in need of our prayers, friendship, and financial assistance. I am saddened to inform you of his recent diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer.

As they face this battle with your support, Ken and Yvette realize that some may wonder why a person with an MD degree would need financial assistance at this stage of their career. Well, as some of you may know, Ken's professional path has not been a traditional one. 

After graduating from residency, he built a thriving practice that unfortunately fell victim to personal struggles eloquently chronicled in his book, "A Season of Afflictions." After experiencing this "fall toward grace," he successfully restored his clinical practice while building a successful medical management company. 

Unfortunately, 10 years ago, he was faced with a truly unexpected federal lawsuit because of his relationship with a Chicago area hospital. The case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice, meaning that was dismissed permanently by the presiding judge. Although he prevailed, it scarred his professional career, necessitating that he step away from clinical practice. 

The success of his medical management business continued until the Covid pandemic wreaked havoc on the health of the economy, and the fiscal viability of his business. This, in turn, led to a near depletion of retirement savings and brings us to the current year, with his recent diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer.

Yvette continues to work, but because the last few years decimated their savings, he and his family need temporary help from us as he awaits disability payments.

We hope this has given you a clearer understanding of what Ken and his family has endured, and the challenges that they will face in the near future.
