Fundraiser for Kenny Nguyen

Donation protected
Hi my name is Cindy Basioa and I am doing a fundraiser for my work brother Tommy Nguyen. His son, Kenneth (Kenny) Kiet Nguyen just turned 15 and has Hodkins Lymphoma in addition to EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) and XMEN disease (MAGT1 deficiency). Kenny is in need of a bone marrow transplant and their family has to move to Cincinatti, Ohio. The Children's hospital in Cincinnati specializes in this type of treatment and he will have a greater chance of survival. This fundraiser will help their family with the move and treatment. Tommy is one of the sweetest most generous person I have ever met. He is someone who has always put everyone first, so let's put him first this time.

More about Kenny: Born on January 16, 2009, he is the true definition of a nerd. Loves video games, anime, and watching YouTube religiously. Has no athletic ability whatsoever and cannot lift anything heavier than a pair of chopsticks. He loves hanging out with his little cousins and lets them bully him as much as they like. He is soft spoken, sweet, kind, and well mannered in every interaction. He is funny, quick witted, can take a joke, and overall doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Around August of 2022 we noticed that he was prone to getting fevers pretty regularly, nose bleeds, and sores. He was visiting the doctors and getting test on almost a regular basis without any real diagnosis. For the next 6 months there were constant doctor visits, he was sleeping a lot, and we saw a massive weight loss. Then one night around March 2023 he spiked a fever of 107.6 degrees and we decided that we needed to go to the emergency room. The doctors took the opportunity to order all the test that were possible at one time and that was when we were told that he had EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) which normally isnt a big deal, but paired which the XMEN disease (MAGT1 deficiency) this lead to a diagnosis of Cancer (Hodkins Lymphoma which attacks the lymph nodes) As a family we kind of went through chemotherapy quietly since Kenny didn’t want anyone to feel sorry for him. There were many days and nights where he didn’t want to eat or drink anything, he was tired all the time, and every time he caught a fever we had to go back to the emergency room. During this whole process, he never once complained or asked why he had to go through it. That was probably the reason all the doctors and nurses loved him so much.

We are grateful for any contributions you can provide. This has been a difficult time for their family but thankful and appreciative for all the love and support.
