Today’s pain, tomorrow’s victory!

2020 has been   for us all.

Just before the pandemic stole my band's livelihood - live performances, I lost my home. Like millions of others and countless entertainers, I haven’t worked since March. While I'm deeply grateful to friends who let me stay with them during the lockdown and for having been spared from COVID, unlike so many, I've discovered two very serious health issues, both of which require major surgery over the next five
months.




On Tuesday, September 22, I will undergo the
first surgery.

In order to heal properly, I will be unable to sing for at least 3 months and so I will need to relearn how to use my voice. In approximately three and a half months, I'll have the second surgery. The recovery time is longer for the second surgery and I won't be able to perform for several more months. But sweetie’s let it be
known, I CANNOT wait to get back on that stage!




I'm blessed to have a place to stay for the first month after my surgery on Tuesday, but immediately following that I will have no place to live. Unfortunately,  I'll be unable to travel to my family in Michigan while I recover because of potential complications. I have no family here
in NYC or the tri-state area.




I'm looking for financial help with after-care (transportation costs to follow-up appts and medications) and living expenses (housing and food costs). As a “freelancer" I don't qualify for many government assistance programs, but if you know of any programs or someone who might be able to lead me in the right direction, please let me know. Alternatively, if you can offer practical help, I would be grateful for that too. Literally, anything helps.
