Kennedy's Journey with Rhabdomyosarcoma

This Gofundme account has been created to help the Dunn family as they all begin to navigate Kennedy's journey with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. This is the backstory written by Cory and Nicole Dunn. "Back in January we discovered a "bump" on Kennedy's bum and we went to our pediatrician and got it checked out. Kennedy had known it was there, but was fearful of what would have to happen to take care of it. We had an ultrasound and we were waiting to see what it did and at that time the doctors thought the bump was a cyst. Moving forward the bump got larger and then we were headed to Phoenix Children's for an MRI with and without contrast. On Friday, February 24th, we got the call no parent ever wants to recieve from our pediatrician that the radiologist thought Kennedy has a malignat tumor called Rhabdomyosarcoma and that we needed to head to Phoenix Children's again for a biposy. We were admitted to the oncology floor where we stayed for a bit. Fast forward a few days and on Wednesday, March 1, we got the call to go talk to the doctor about what her biopsy results were. We were then told that our sweet Kennedy has Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma stage 3 group 3. Her total treatment will last 60 weeks and will include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and 40 weeks maintenance low dose of chemotherapy. We have hoped that any day now we would wake up from this nightmare, but instead we begin the fight of our lives."

The Dunn's have a very long road ahead of them both emotionally and financially. Even with insurance, medical bills, transportation costs to and from the hospital, etc. will just be a few of the added costs the Dunn family has to encounter.
