Kennedy Family - Medical Bills and Family Care
Donation protected
As many of you know, the Kennedy family has been facing an overwhelming crisis in the last few weeks, as Lee was admitted into the hospital with a life threatening health issue. The road ahead will be a long and challenging one, but his family is hopeful for a positive outcome.
Since the onset of acute symptoms a few weeks ago, Lee, who is self-employed and the sole breadwinner, has been unable to work. We started this GoFundMe page to invite you to pray for the Kennedy family and help alleviate some of their financial burden.
On November 7, Lee was admitted to Novant Hospital with excruciating abdominal pain and a high fever. He was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis and necrosis of the pancreas, caused by an extremely high triglyceride count (above 4000). The following day it was decided his condition was very critical and he was moved to the ICU. He spent 5 days in the intensive care unit and received numerous treatments and tests to battle the pancreatitis. In addition, he developed a blood infection, which caused a high fever, excessively high heart rate and an acute kidney injury.
Since then he has been moved to intermediate care, although the most recent CT scan showed little improvement. The doctors are discussing possibility of surgery, but due to his unstable condition it would not be helpful right now and could come 8-12 weeks out. Currently his white blood cell count and temperature continue to be high and he is being treated for a possible additional infection. In the ICU a feeding tube was strategically placed so he could begin receiving small amounts of nutrients but has been stopped and started several times due to complications.
Please, consider donating to take the financial burden off this precious family so they can focus entirely on Lee's recovery. The funds will help cover Lee's enormous medical bills and their monthly living expenses.
Most importantly, please, pray for healing for Lee and for strength and hope for Misty, Lincoln and Julia as they wait for their husband and dad to come back home.
