Kennedy Austin AKA Special K

Donation protected
On April 7, my 2yr old granddaughter, Kennedy Austin, was at the home of a family member in Mesa, AZ where she was found floating in the backyard pool.  The family member went inside momentarily and came back out and discovered her. The family member immediately called 9-1-1. The dispatcher provided CPR instructions until the paramedics arrived within less than 4 mins. CPR was performed for almost an hour in an effort to obtain a heartbeat.  She was eventually intubated and put on a ventilator. During these tragic long days, only one parent could visit Kennedy at any given time.  This was due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.  As you can imagine, this was a very heartbreaking experience for the parents, Kaaseen and Danielle, not to mention the rest of the family.  On April 12th, Easter Sunday, the doctors concluded that there wasn’t much more to be done.  The doctors and nurses were gracious enough to allow both Kaaseen and Danielle to spend the entire day and night with Kennedy. Monday, April 13th, 2020 @ 1:39pm Kennedy became a guardian angel.  She is in God’s hands now. Kaaseen and Danielle allowed Kennedy to help others through organ donations. Kennedy was the youngest in her family.  Her big brother Alex misses his little sister so much.  This is going to be a rough time for Kaaseen, Danielle and Alex. Kaaseen, a veteran who works for Maricopa County and Danielle works for Northern Arizona University.  They are a young family, but they are a strong family facing this new void in their lives. Kennedy AKA Special “K”  comes from a huge family.  As most of you know we have 8 sons, 1 daughter and 25 grandchildren.  Special “K” was grandchild #25. This fundraiser is primarily for anticipated funeral expenses.  As of today, we don’t even know what a funeral will look like during this Coronavirus Pandemic. But I humble myself and I’m asking for assistance during this tragic time.  Our family is experiencing something that I never would have ever imagined. As a retired 9-1-1 operator, for Phoenix Fire Department, I NEVER would have thought that a drowning could strike “our” family. This just goes to show that no one is immune from tragedy.  So please watch your kids around water.  It truly only takes just a second.  The dynamics of our family has drastically changed . . . forever.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Kennedy is now in God’s hands.  Thank you in advance for your generosity. The Austin Family
