Ken-Ken's medical expenses fund

On this past Friday August 5, at approximately 1 am Kendrick Hester, well known as Ken Ken, was severely injured in a hit & run accident. As he and his 2 friends, J'Ron Erby (23 years old) & Pooter/Martin Thomas, (24 years old) were crossing a street in San Diego (PB/ Garnet St.) They were celebrating Ken's 25th birthday... Ken Ken is a very energetic young man, full of life and very respected among his friends and people that know him. Although we now have a description of the vehicle that hit these young men, the driver is still at large. This accident sent all three young men to the hospital; Pooter has been released but suffers a concussion, fractured nose with scrapes and contusions all over his body. Ken Ken & J'Ron remain in the hospital. Ken's injuries include a large laceration on his forehead requiring stitches, staples and surgery to his forehead, severe road rash on his left shoulder and leg from being dragged. And possibly ran over He may be released from the hospital in a day or two. J'Ron's injuries are the most severe.

Ken is A Wayne State college athlete and graduate, with a bachelors degree in a public relations major & criminal justice minor. He works at Palomar College as a Program Ambassador for the non-profit Upward bound program - a government funded program that advises first generation low income high school students in Northern San Diego county. He was supposed to be leaving Monday, August 8, 2016 to take all the kids in his program on a trip up north to visit several college campuses. Ken has been working hard preparing and planning for this trip for months. He was also recently given the lead position for this trip, responsible for all the kids and staff and coordinating their activities for this trip.

We still need answers in finding the person responsible for all this senseless pain, suffering and financial burden.

These three young men have college educations with the world ahead of them! There is nothing that can justify them being hit while crossing the street and seeing the car accelerate as it left the scene!
