Recently my coworker at Dutchie, Mitzi Sue Lebria, single mother of 4, has experienced the unthinkable: the passing of her 9 year old son. Within 6 weeks of that devastating loss, her family has now been served another blow, a cancer diagnosis for her other son.
As most all do in the Philippines, the hospital requires advance payment before admitting patients.
The upcoming medical procedures, which will allow her son a fighting chance to live, will require more than she has available in savings so, until Mitzi is able to prove that she has the funds to pay for Kenjzi’s procedure in full, he has to wait.
To prevent her from selling the home she & her 3 children live in, we are hoping to raise funds to help bridge the gap.
Any money raised here will be transferred to Jolie, then sent via Western Union to Mitzi. Any support (monetary or sharing Kenjzi’s story) is greatly appreciated to help Mitzi’s family navigate this difficult season of life.
Sincerely,
Emily
From Mitzi Sue:
My son Kenjzi is a sweet, loving, and optimistic 11-year-old boy who means the world to me. He has been struggling with Aspiration Pneumonitis and has been in and out of the hospital for the past 2 years. Despite his illness, he is a top student and loves biking. His 9-year-old sibling passed October 23, 2023 after suffering the same diagnosis, as it took us too long to get proper treatment. After being treated on an outpatient basis for months at Davao Doctors Hospital, on December 7, Kenjzi was diagnosed with Type 1r Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB) Lung CA. He needs surgery as soon as possible, which is scheduled December 19th (if I am able to prove that I can pay for the procedure). This surgery is the best possible option for Kenzji’s survival and, according to his doctors, he has a very good chance for a full recovery following the procedure. Because of this, we are asking for your help covering Kenjzi’s medical expenses – surgery, hospital care, and medications – through his months-long journey to what we expect will be a full recovery and a normal life.
Throughout the past couple years of sickness, he has remained our happy, life loving little boy. With your help, his strength, his doctor’s expertise, and God’s loving grace - Kenjzi will be able to make it through this.
For any help you are willing to offer, my family cannot begin to thank you enough.
