Esteemed circle of precious family and friends:

As many of you already know, our dear Kenia has been fighting breast cancer for several years and is currently living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She had surgery in December 2023. Sadly, despite all her best efforts and the many costs along the way, this cancer is still something she is actively battling.

My name is Christine. I met Kenia through a cancer support group, and we’ve been walking alongside each other through this journey. Kenia is a devoted wife and mom who has been fighting with steady faith and determination. Her love for her family, her faith, and her drive to regain her health have truly inspired me.

For the last couple years, I’ve encouraged her to let me create a GoFundMe for her and her family because we have often talked about the financial burden cancer brings. High deductibles, specialty medications, travel for expert appointments, and supportive care create significant out-of-pocket expenses. I know this personally because I am also fighting cancer, and years ago a friend encouraged me to do a GoFundMe. It helped tremendously, financially, emotionally, and spiritually as well.

Today, Kenia is living with stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones. Her cancer has not stabilized, and her medical team is adjusting her treatment plan. She is currently being treated at City of Hope. Because her case is complex, she also travels to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for specialty care and guidance.

Please help us support Kenia and Tony and their three beautiful boys, ages 6, 8 and 10, as they walk this road together.

• $9,000 annual deductible

• Lab work ordered by her oncology team that insurance does not cover

• Travel and lodging for MD Anderson consults in Houston and frequent visits to City of Hope in Duarte

• Ongoing physical therapy with specialized therapists to support healing from bone fractures

• Expenses related to managing medication side effects, nutrition to support her immune system, and in-house recovery programs
