UPDATE (9/28): Kendra passed away peacefully last night (9/27) at her home with her family. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. Thank you to everyone for the love and support you have shown to her and her family. We will continue to raise money for her scholarship through this page, so please share widely. We will keep you updated on the funds when the scholarship is finalized.

Kendra was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2014, just after the birth of her second child. Since then, she has raised her two children with her husband, Tony, seeing her eldest off to college and her youngest into Kindergarten this Fall. Kendra developed an influential body of scholarship and a successful career at the University of New Mexico where she was awarded tenure in 2019. She has done all of this with incredible strength, grace, and humor.

We started this fund to help support Kendra's family through her end of life care - for food, medical bills, childcare, and other necessary expenses.  Any remaining money raised here will be rolled into a scholarship fund in Kendra's name. (details forthcoming).
