Yesterday on the Fourth of July my brother Randy, future sister in law Christina and the kids were celebrating Independence Day at grandmas house when they received a call from a neighbor that their home was on fire. Randy was able to race home and save their two dogs and suffered from smoke inhalation as a result. However the house and their belongings are a complete loss. Given that they were out enjoying the weather they literally only have the clothes that they were wearing and sandals for footwear. Eventually all will be made whole through insurance and a lot of sorting and piecing their lives back together, but right now this family in need of assistance. I have received a bunch of phone calls from people who want to help and the truth is that the only real help right now would be one of a financial donation. They need to go shopping just for basics underwear, socks, shoes etc.
