Dear Friends,
Let's do right by OUR dear friend and a single mother who has been fighting a battle of a lifetime trying to cover her older son's medical expenses while providing for and taking care of her younger teenage son and an elderly father.
Kenan is a young adult who has been fighting type 1 diabetes since 1998. However, as many of you already know, his condition has worsened about two years ago, and at that time, Kenan lost his medical insurance due to his inability to work. For the past two years, his type 1 diabetes has caused many serious medical complications leaving Kenan unable to walk or stand for longer than two to three minutes (hypotension). In addition, Kenan completley lost vision in his left eye while the right eye has also been damaged. To make things even harder for this young person, Kenan's type 1 diabetes has caused nerve damage (neuropathy) of his legs.
The goal of this fundraiser is to provide the much needed funds to implement the continuous and necessary medication for Kenan since this campaign's beneficiary and Kenan's mother, Nermina Kovacevic, has been paying it all by herself for the past two years due to Kenan's lost medical insurance related to his inability to work.
As you can imagine, and I hope you never get to witness someone you love go through any of this, OUR friend's medical bills are enormous. Kenan's hospitalizations, his frequent ER visits, and his LIFE SAVING medications have been accumulating and at this point, his mother, OUR friend, is devastated because their attempt to ensure Kenan's medical insurance through Social Security Disability Benefits has been rejected.
Of course, this MOTHER and OUR dear friend will not give up. The next step is to fight and appeal, but in the meantime, WE must come together and help.
I am asking you to help me help OUR friend cover Kenan's medical expenses (medical bills from the last two years in addition to his LIFE SAVING daily medication).
