Kenai Lives!!!!

The doctors at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital worked non-stop over the course of the week to save his life .   He was given multiple doses of antivenin  and the venom was finally stopped.   He has now begun eating again and there is no doubt that he will survive.   We are so grateful to these doctors and to all of you who contributed to helping save his life.  

Moving forward, he will have surgery tomorrow to remove a large area of dead tissue surrounding the bite. The area will be closed or grafted onto and then he will officially begin his recovery.   


                              Love and Appreciation

It is truly amazing how many people have shown compassion for our situation.   The forecast of eventual loss made this experience a roller coaster of fear and  sadness.   But ultimately, Kenai's life was saved and we have witnessed something beautiful.  This act of nature where a dog was bitten by a rattlesnake had the side effect of profoundly representing pure good in human nature.  So many of you showed compassion for the suffering of others when it could have easily been ignored or absorbed and swept away by the many troubles of our lives.   So thank you to all of you, with so much love and appreciation.
