My parents are incredible people. I grew up in a household surrounded by love, warmth and laughter. Both of them worked tirelessly to provide a happy home for me, their only child. They are kind and generous people who would do anything they can to help a friend in need.
On November 21st, 2018, the day before Thanksgiving, my father was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. He had been battling undiagnosed symptoms for nearly two years before it was discovered. At the same time, he continued to provide and care for my amazing mother who has been living with Parkinson’s Disease for over a decade.
My family gathered for what would ultimately be our final holiday with my beloved father. He was given only 6 months to live, and because of previous health issues, treatment was not recommended. He was put on hospice, and less than a month after the diagnosis, my father passed on.
I can’t imagine life without my dad. He and my mother mean everything to me. Not only is my mother losing her husband of over 30 years, but she is also losing her home as she cannot continue to make payments on her own. All I want is for my mom to be able to live a comfortable life, free of worry and pain.
While I can’t take away all of her pain, I can try my best to help take away her worry over financial issues. She and my dad are both so deserving of help. I would do anything for these people; my parents, my best friends, my mom and my dad.
If you are blessed with the ability to contribute, we are asking for $10,000 to cover the cost of my father’s care, funeral arrangements, and our mortgage until we are able to make other living arrangements for my mother- an environment conducive for her life with Parkinson’s disease. If you cannot, I thank you for reading this far and keeping my family in your prayers. Merry Christmas and thank you all for your love and support in these difficult times.
