Ken Woldstad Recovery Fund

Donation protected
We know these are really tough times for so many people, and we don't take this step lightly, but we're asking friends and family who are able and willing to lend a hand to Ken Woldstad and his wife Lezlie (Devlin) Woldstad.

Just four days after one of the happiest days of the year for Ken and Lezlie - the birth of their fifth grandchild (and first granddaughter!), Ken was returning home to Polson, Mont., to work at his landscaping business on the morning of June 27. Lezlie remained in Kalispell with granddaughter Noa. Ken was only two miles from home when his heart went into ventricular fibrillation and he lost consciousness.

After striking a power pole on one side of U.S. Highway 93 his truck veered across the road, narrowly missing other vehicles, went over an embankment and into Flathead Lake. Fortunately Polson police officer Kyle Cooper witnessed the crash. He and another officer who was on the scene quickly, Jim Atkins, went into the water, got Ken to shore and began CPR. EMTs twice administered electrical shocks to his heart en route to St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson. There, doctors worked to revive him and placed him on a ventilator, and Ken was immediately life-flighted to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

As we write this Ken is still in ICU, just regaining consciousness but faces a long recovery, including open-heart surgery to correct the problems that led to the ventricular fibrillation. In the meantime, he and Lezlie face medical bills plus the loss of Ken's income for some time to come. Any financial help as they deal with all this will be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of Ken and Lezlie, their children Derek (and Tiffany) Woldstad, Ashley (and Tyson) Atkinson and Kendra Woldstad (and Daniel Chandler), their grandsons Jace, Brayden, Camden and Zander - and of course, granddaughter Noa - a heartfelt thanks to Kyle Cooper and Jim Atkins, the other first responders, and the doctors and nurses in Polson and Kalispell who worked so hard to save Ken's life.

And thanks to all of you who can contribute, and to all that can't but still offer prayers and emotional support. It is so appreciated.
