Many of you know my brother, Ken Privett - but for those of you that do not..... he is a kind soul and a pretty awesome dude! Ken has a beautiful wife, Ana and two young children, Allen and Luciana. Ken recently had to have surgery at Richland Center Hospital for ulcerative colitis which affects the lining of the intestine. While recovering, some ulcers ate through the lining of the intestine which caused a severe fissure and infection. He then had to have emergency surgery to do a temporary bypass of the intestine to allow it to heal. Due to the severity of his condition he was to be transferred to a Madison hospital but due to Covid, all Madison hospitals were not accepting any patients. He was added to a waiting list. Once he was finally transferred to Meriter Hospital, he later tested for Covid and was placed on the Covid floor. He is now home and starting the healing process. Ken has a very long road to recovery along with some life altering changes. He will have many future doctor appointments including another surgery to remove the bypass. Home health visits and physical therapy. Besides the physical and mental toll this has put on Ken, there is also the financial burden. Currently, his return-to-work status is uncertain. Ana has been working extra hours at McDonalds as well as caring for Ken and the kids. Grandma and Grandpa have been helping as much as they can to care for Luciana and chores around the house while Ana is working. I would love to be there to help, but it is difficult since I do not live in Richland Center. Also, I know there are many people that would like to help but just do not know how they can. This is why I have started a GoFundMe page. It is not easy asking people for money, and it is not easy accepting money from people either, but this would be a great benefit for Ken and his family. A donation of any size would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
On behalf of Ken and his family, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and generosity.
