Longtime FLCMAA Member Ken Nyhus is in the PICU with COVID 19 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, in Sarasota Florida. Ken was admitted on August 7th and moved to the PICU a few days later. This terrible virus came quick and mighty on such a big strong man. He still remains on a ventilator and his family can only visit by looking through his hospital room window.
At the time of contracting Covid, Ken was the General Manager of the Dunedin Golf Club. Sadly, the club terminated his employment due to his lengthy projected recovery time and long term prognosis (it is doubtful he will fully recover). Julie works full time for the public school system but is struggling to make ends meet.
Julie is back to work, not only stressing over her husbands' hospitalization and trying to run the household but also had to fight COVID herself. Ian their son had also tested positive. Both luckily have recovered fully. Lauren their daughter, seems to have not been exposed and is back at home after staying at a friends.
If you now Ken you know that he is a gentle giant and loves his family deeply. His passion for club management runs deep.
