Ken McKinnon Medical Journey
Donation protected
Ken fell ill in early February. He Seemed to have flu like symptoms. By February 15th his condition kept getting worse so Coleen took him into Emergency. That’s the day that their life took a sharp turn. Ken has acute myeloid leukemia. He has endured two rounds of chemo which has required him to stay in hospital for most of the last 76 days and counting. Ken’s only hope for survival is a Allogeneic Stem Cell transplant as soon as possible. This will be done in Saskatoon. He will need to live in there for several months. He has to have a 24 hr care giver with him so Coleen will need to live there as well. Ken is self employed which unfortunately means no sick pay. Sadly, the financial stress is compounding making it even harder for Ken to have the strength he needs to face this battle. With Coleen by his side as well as his two sons , Coleen will be moving with him and they will have to rent a furnished suite, as well as travel and very expensive medications!!
Ken is a strong, hard working man. His family is so proud of him. He will try his best to win this battle but just needs a little help. If you are able to donate, his family says thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
