As many of you already know, Ken and Bunny Lipinski have been living with Ken's diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease over the last 6 years. Three years ago his condition regressed and a new diagnosis of Parkinson's Dementia was birthed. Since that time Ken has received extraordinary home care from Bunny and a team of wonderful care givers This team of loving and caring individuals saw to his every need and comfort.
Parkinson's being a degenerative disease resulted in Ken's mental and physical ability to decline over the months and years.
Recently, during a brief hospital stay it was discovered that Ken's ability to swallow is now seriously impaired (something very typical in Parkinson's) and he is slowly aspirating. This means every time he swallows a small portion of food, saliva, or liquid is traveling into his airway rather than down into his stomach. This indicates Ken has entered the end stages of Parkinson's.
Ken was sent home with the support of hospice but also requires a team of private care givers 24 hours per day. This comes at a high monetary cost of $816.00 per day and should it be required, $24,000.00 per month. The financial impact of Ken's care has already been devastating but now this new reality has caused us to reach out to family and friends for acts of generosity.
Bunny has great faith that Our Lord will provide for Ken's care since
God's provisions has been evident in miraculous ways for the past 6 years. I ask you to join this journey in any way possible. Your prayers are the number one priority at this time for providing comfort and strength . Many times during the past few days Bunny will say " I know I am being prayed for right now, I feel peace"
If you feel led, any contribution to Ken's private care is overwhelmingly appreciated.
This is the verse Bunny holds on to.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
