As many of you have heard Ken was recently in an accident while doing what he loves most - drag racing
First and foremost - he is going to be okay! ❤️❤️
As of this point it is still unknown what happened mechanically, but the car took a sharp turn into the wall Thursday afternoon in Seattle. It caught fire and unfortunately, Ken was unable to get out quick enough to avoid injury and had to be lifeflighted.
He suffered burns, primary on his left side, on 13% of his body. Most are 2nd degree, but he still may require some skin grafts. He has several broken ribs and a broken hip. He also has a fractured femur, which he had surgery on this morning to place a rod and the doctors said he is recovering well from it! ❤️
Ken is SUCH a trooper and is still managing to crack jokes asking for an ice cold Pepsi despite his pain. It's going to be a long road to recovery but we all know he can do it!
Unfortunately the race car didnt make it, but it - and his safety equipment did it's job and kept him alive.
There will obviously be some large expenses that will follow this considering the life flight, hospital stay, surgeries and physical therapy to come. If you are able to help the Harkema family to ease the burden I know they would be so greatful. If you are not able to help financially, prayers for his healing are SO appreciated more than words could ever say ❤️ We will do our best to keep everyone updated on his condition and make sure both Ken and Dagni feel all the love and well wishes being sent their way. ❤️❤️❤️
