Hi. My name is Kristen. If you’re reading this, you must have been a friend or colleague of Ken Bibb. Ken passed away on Oct. 1, 2021 after battling Kidney Disease for over 10 years. He was 57.

I was his friend and his caregiver for the past 18 months, but I have known him since High School. He was a kind person, and generous beyond measure. If you ever knew him, you KNOW. He was happy to help any friend in need. He, literally, went above and beyond for the people he cared for, and never asked for anything in return. When his illness made it difficult for him to care for himself, I was happy to step in and do what I could to make his life a little easier.  I retired from my grooming business in Hood River, OR and moved to Portland to move in with him. Since he was still able to work, we decided it best for me to just focus on taking care of him instead of finding new employment. He had no issue with me not working. Alas, after a few months with him, it would have been impossible to hold down another job outside of caring for him anyway.

Fast forward to the present. Because of that series of events, I find myself in a bit of a bind with his passing. I am left with an apartment full of his things that need to be packed and stored. 

Our arrangement had been that he would transfer money to my bank account on the 1st and 15th of the month to take care of basic household needs, but he paid the household and his personal bills so we never had a joint account. Since it was the first when he passed, that didn’t happen, and my bank account is low. I’m in the process of trying to figure out what needs paying and what funds I will need to make sure his things are moved to a secure storage facility.

Well that’s the short version, but I think it explains the predicament I’m in at this time. I don’t like it, but I’m in a position where I don’t really have a choice other than to ask for help. Your kindness would be, MUCH, appreciated. Thank you!
