Kemper Family Care

Martin Kemper was a biker, birder, and pilot.  He is a caring husband and amazing 'Opa' to his family. Sadly, in February 2017 he was showing signs of concern, 5 months later he was officially diagnosed with ALS.  
 
To care for Martin, Karen retired from her flourishing pediatric clinic. His decline has been swift, he lost his ability to speak in May 2018, soon was in a wheelchair, and in January of this year became bed-bound.  He currently can only communicate with his eyes and answer yes and no questions through hand signals.  


Throughout Martin's decline, Karen has been the sole provider 24 hours a day with only brief breaks offered through friends and family.  During this time medical costs have been astronomical and are still mounting. One month of care for Martin is $14,400.
