Now it’s your turn to help him...
Kemit Cotto has been an Emergency Medical Technician for 24 years helping those in need and putting others first before himself. Kemit is the smiling face and wonderful human being that greets patients when they are in the darkest of times, uplifting people with his energetic spirit and sense of humor. Kemit is kind, welcoming, and generous to all.
Kemit is well known for being a hard worker. He works two jobs, six days a week, all year long as both an Atlantic Mobile Health EMT and a tractor-trailer driver. He does not frequently take time for himself. On 9/08/2025, Kemit was enjoying himself taking a ride on his motorcycle when a car stopped short in front of him on Interstate 287. To avoid hitting the car, he braked, was thrown from his motorcycle into the side of a tractor-trailer, and subsequently run over by the tractor-trailer. He suffered extensive injuries: a clavicle fracture, chest hematoma, open tibial fracture, ankle fracture, several bilateral lower extremity fractures, and severe soft tissue trauma of his lower extremities. Kemit has already undergone one extensive orthopedic surgery and has more to come before he is back on his feet.
If you have ever been on the receiving end of these statements from Kemit:
“We’ve got you...”
“Don’t worry about it...”
“This one is on me...”
“This one is my treat...”
...please, now it’s your turn to help our coworker, our friend, our brother, a first responder, Kemit.
Any amount you can contribute will help Kemit on the long road ahead of him and his journey to recovery. We greatly appreciate your help more than you know.
God Bless Kemit
