Help Kelsie Get To Safer Ground -- A Trans Woman's Call

Hi Everyone,

I moved to my parents' place last June expecting difficult. It's been beyond so much more than difficult. I've given it my all every single day for 11+ months.

One condition for me being here: "no dressing as a girl." As a trans woman, I've complied the entire time because I had nowhere else to go -- still don't. Legal process underway.

I am so grateful for your donations and shares! Every dollar and every like is fuel for this move to safer ground.

Forever grateful,
Kelsie Cace Jonak (Legal Name: Kenneth Chadwick Crider)

Backstory:

Pressured out of my last cybersecurity role in early 2022 after I disclosed my autism and asked for easy accommodations. Months of interviews (took me 9 to land that one! -- AuDHD job-hunting is its own nightmare). Long-term relationship ended June 2024; I took my truck, $100, and myself to a parking lot ("forever" meant something different to her, I guess). Phone stolen. Truck broke down, then stolen. 9 months homeless in TEXAS, July 2024 onward -- 110°F to 27°F (that was a night to remember!). I chose that over coming back here. $138K saved by the time my last job ended. All of it now long gone, none of it to bad financial decisions -- quite the opposite!

After Texas and 3 months in Munich with my dear friend (LGBTQIA+ ally, the Queen Lesbian of Munich, and life-saver!:), I came back to Virginia because the alternative was dying out there. What I've found here is perhaps worse, but in wholly different ways. The last 4 weeks have been especially brutal but, as always: "THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY."

My independent Cyber Security Engineering work was finally opening into real money ~2 months ago when the situation here flew to pieces. Trans + AuDHD (autistic + ADHD) + this environment = massive toll mentally, physically, emotionally. The semblance of safety I have right now is fleeting; no vehicle, no key, 9 miles from anywhere -- including the ER; essentials thin -- I'm still MAKING IT W3RK, HONEY! ;)

I've never carried a victim mindset. I've worked on myself for decades, apologized when I'm wrong, lived "live and let live" since high school. The fact is: I have been victimized: for being trans, for being neurodivergent, properly disclosing, helping others before myself -- and last but not leastly -- for no reason at all!

I've raised my goal to $138K -- what real safety + legal + supplies actually costs after 11+ months of this (and 17+ months of that before this). Rebuilding is on me, always has been. This NEW stretch is STILL about survival.

Serious love, serious money -- both carry me through!

To my Austin + Munich folks, my FLINTA + LGBTQIA+ family, my trans sisters wherever this finds you: I'm asking; this is the call, girl! Please share -- publicly, every channel, every reach.

Sharing matters as much as donating, maybe more!

Forever grateful,
Kelsie Cace Jonak (Legal Name: Kenneth Chadwick Crider)

I’m Kelsie Cace Jonak, a 40-year-old trans-femme, non-binary person rebuilding in Munich, Germany (starting March 3rd) after a tough journey.

Thanks to my incredible friend and LGBTQIA+ ally, Courtney, I’ve found a safe space to start fresh. She’s managing the funds to ensure every dollar donated goes toward my new beginning.

Life has thrown me some wild curveballs in the past few years: extreme financial difficulty, heartbreak, and late-diagnosed neurodivergence (autism and ADHD). Now I've emerged much stronger -- it is my time to thrive!

Your donations will cover essentials like warm clothes, groceries, and transportation, so that I can rest, recover, and pursue my passion for sharing my story with the world. Every donation, big or small, brings me closer to that dream!
