Hello friends and family,
I have been given the opportunity to be a part of a team of church planters headed to Queens, NYC. The name of the church is RootsNYC. This comes from the heart and vision for the church; to be rooted in the community, rooted in love, and rooted in God's word. As a team of planters, we will be fueled by evangelism, reaching out to the community for Jesus. We will be planting Bible teaching, gospel-preaching, God glorifying, Jesus-loving churches in every borough and beyond, starting in Astoria, Queens. I am so humbled and grateful to be a part of the work God is doing in New York.
This is an exciting yet scary leap of faith for me. I plan to move to Astoria at the beginning of April. Although I am leaving my family, close friends, and comforts of home, I believe this is exactly what the Lord has called me to.
As you may know, New York is the most expensive city to live in. I have set up this Gofundme account in hopes of raising enough money for several months rent. I plan to get a part time job to help with my expenses but feel that it is important to stay focused on the reason I am going, to help start a church, which is no light task. I will need funds for flights, rent, transportation (i.e. a monthly subway pass), food, and normal living expenses. I trust that the Lord will provide everything I need. He is always faithful.
Will you join me in this venture of faith? Please consider and pray about donating during the month of March, to assist as I prepare to make the big move. This would greatly help me as I look for a job and get settled in the big city. If you feel led to support me financially, I would be forever grateful.
The Lord is doing an amazing work in New York City, which you can be a part of by supporting.
More than anything, I would like to ask you to come alongside me in prayer. Please pray for the people whose lives will be touched. Please pray for me to have courage, boldness, and love for His people. Please pray for Pastor Jimmy Schauerte, his wife Liz, and their new baby Haven. Please pray that all the details of the church plant would come together and the team would be united.
Lastly, please praise the Lord with me! He is so faithful to be praised. He is jealous for His people and faithful to pursue His sheep! Worship Him!
