Hi, my name is Lynnsie and I am raising money to help Kelsey and Shane get a safe place to raise their kids and to help them get their vehicle running.
A little back story:
I work with Shane at The Carpet Guys. Shane is a great employee and a good person - He and his wife Kelsey have 4 kids; Jeremiah, Damion, Cali, and Dreko. They have been living in the same house for the last 8 years. They originally were in a land contract for this house, and have consistently been making payments to their "landlord". A few months ago, the City of Warren came out and basically said it was an illegal rental as the house had not been registered with them, and that the taxes were behind. This was news to them, as they have ALWAYS paid on time, and in full. The landlord has been telling them they were doing what they needed to do to get the house registered, but in reality, they basically said not their problem. Court ]proceedings are in the works, as well as an eviction. On top of that, Kelsey isn't able to work right now as their only vehicle, a truck needs a ton of work. Financially, they have not been able to get it running on one income.
I am trying to raise enough money so they can get their truck fixed so Kelsey can get back to work, as well as get them into a safe affordable place to live with their children.
I am hoping to raise enough money to cover the first and last months rent and security deposit, as well as a few months of rent/bills so they can get back on their feet, and keep their family together.
They have been working really hard to keep their home, thinking they were doing the right thing by listening to their landlord and paying for the home they live in only to find out they will be evicted and with no place to go and no way to cover the expenses of moving.
They will be homeless shortly without the generous help of others. Even the smallest donation will help. As their friend, I am hopeful we can provide them with some stability, hope, and love for them and their family.
In searching for a safe place to live, we are also looking for someone to work with them on getting into said place. While they have been in the same place, they won’t have anything to provide to show that. We need a landlord/owner that understands sometimes we all need a hand.
Thank you to everyone who reads this, please share it as well, everything helps, and sometimes it takes a village.
