Official: Kelsey Roses Golden Battle Page

Hello my name is Jessica Kauffeld this is my beautiful daughter Kelsey. On July 5th we hand to bring her to the hospital she was 13 at the time. I felt a mass that felt like she was a few months pregnant so my husband took her to the Emergency Room. Little did we know taking her to the hospital that day, was going to change our lives forever. After 6 hours we where told she had a huge mass and rushed her to another hospital. Our family was not prepared for what happened next On July 8th they removed a 5 pound Complex Mixed Germ Cell tumor (basically 3 germ tumors in one mass) her fallopian tube and ovary. 1 in 400,000 get this people get similar tumors. It is a very aggressive cancer!! Our family decided to take her to CHOP where they are better equipped to deal with this complicated rare cancer. On October 4 3 months after her surgery we got the results no parent wants to hear her germ cell cancer was back and with more friends they staged her at 4. staging at this point means nothing because she was going to need chemotherapy. The cancer came back in the following areas: her left ovary, uterus, intestines, and lymph nodes.  We were told that this is extremely aggressive form of cancer. On October 15th Kelsey began her next part journey she had her port placed and began her 1st round. That round was the easiest. The second round in November bought it's own challenges. We have learned now she is a very picky eater I usually do not get much notice on what she is up to eating. This is just one of the many complications with Cancer she has. On the 5th of February we where told her chemotherapy did not work infact 3 tumor's GREW!! Kelsey heads for a complicated surgery that can have many complications please continue to support our family it is a costly expense to make sure she is at the best hospital!!
