Kelsey Beatty After Horrific Car Accident

Hello everyone - My name is Kelley Harris, and I am helping raise funds for my cousin Kelsey Beatty. She was hit dead-on today (6/18/2022) by a motorist who was texting and driving. Kelsey was riding a motorcycle with her significant other when suddenly, this motorist came over the center divider and directly hit them. Her leg and pelvis were ripped away from her body. Miraculously, there was a car of off-duty trauma nurses behind her. Otherwise, she nor her significant other would likely be alive right now. The doctors attempted to reattach her leg but were unsuccessful. We are in shock and utter disbelief that she has now lost her leg. She has also lost an incredible amount of blood. She is intubated and goes back into surgery tomorrow to hopefully reconstruct her pelvis.

Kelsey has a young daughter, Harper, who is her whole world. I've never met a more devoted mother. She is the Director of a preschool and loves children. She just had an offer accepted on a new home for herself and Harper. We are just not sure what will happen now that she will not be able to work, and the medical bills will be overwhelming. Anyone who knows Kelsey loves her. She is a bright ray of sunshine with a smile for everyone and a kind heart. If I had to think of one word to describe Kelsey, it would absolutely be "kind." She is the true definition of a good friend and values her relationship with family and friends above all else.

You are raising an intelligent, imaginative, creative and funny daughter with such skill and grace and I stand in awe of your capabilities. I wish I was with you today to celebrate this day. I love you."

Please consider helping Kelsey and Harper. The doctors say that she will be in the hospital for a minimum of one month and at least a year of recovery after that. Why this happened to someone as warm and loving as Kelsey is beyond my comprehension. Thank you!
