Hello- My Name is Secret Snake.
I am a local Oregonian and a musician/ entertainer/writer here in Portland.
Pictured is John Bradley; one of my best friends for over a decade, laughing about how his only pair of glasses were unintenionaly destroyed at a metal show On 1/9/15.
He's always been a great sport about life being a doozie once in a while, but what happened in the week that followed is as unbelievable as it is tragic.
John's mother Susan died in her sleep Sunday morning. The family is beyond shocked; She was healthy and in her early fifties.
The Bradley's had just lost their youngest member, John's brother Nolan, the previous Spring. He was only 18. It pains me to say that i believe she died of heartbreak over the loss of her son.
John and his wonderful wife Elise drove down from Portland to Southern Oregon to be among family and grieve the sudden loss of a mother, step mother, grandmother, and wife.
On Thursday, a friend of theirs stopped by their Portland home ( a rental) to feed the cats while they were out of town. The front door was ajar; their entire home had been burglarized for everything of value: musical instruments, tools, equiptment, irreplaceable items, appliances, entertainment system, sentimental items, drawers and cabinets ransacked and dumped out.
On Saturday, their 6 month old kitten Pearl appeared to be ill. John and Elise took her to the vet. Upon examination, the found that her lungs were terminally filling with fluid; their little baby cat they got to aid in grieving for Nolan has to be put down.
All of this, and they're moving to southern oregon in February, as they have been planning for months.
As their friend, I'm trying to do all I can to be there for them and turn their luck around.
They need money to restart the life that was torn away from them in a matter of days by a fate crueler than fiction.
I'm making the goal $4000, although I'm quite sure that the value of what was stollen fom their home exceeds that by quite a bit.
Anything helps!
John and Elise, are kind, hardworking, bright, compassionate people; the kind of people the world needs.
won't you please help?
