My dearest friend Kelly has recently been diagnosed with Pemphigus Vulgaris, a rare and potentially fatal autoimmune disorder. This terrible news comes after a 7 year struggle with continuous chronic ill health and the frustration of trying to find answers and a correct diagnosis. Kelly already lives with a rare kidney disease, Cystinuria, which requires constant specialist monitoring and can be excruciating painful at times.
Despite her dealing with such cruel and debilitating health conditions, I am constantly amazed and inspired by Kellys strength, courage and commitment to raising her 3 beautiful daughters, Indiya (16), Ella (14) and Makiah (4) and now has the added weight of Indiya recently being diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia & Hyper Mobility Syndrome and Ella with Hasimotos Disease, all of which also require constant specialist treatment and medication.
The medical costs Kelly has incurred over the last few years have spiralled and left her financially crippled. Now that she is facing a monumental challenge to overcome this heath crisis, myself and many of her friends wish for her to focus her attention and energy on fighting this disease without the burden of debt or heavy financial strain hanging over her head during treatment.
Over the 15 years I have known her, Kellys own generousity of spirit has never ceased to amaze me; there isn't anything she wouldn't do, at the drop of a hat, to help another. I have witnessed her time and time again, selflessly helping others in need, even when she has had so little to give herself, both financially and physically. I have often joked that she was born with a "broken body but the biggest heart" and I believe it is now time for her to concentrate her entire effort on healing and with our help, we can offer some support and hopefully make this journey a little easier for her.
Makiahs kindergarten will be holding a Cent Auction Fundraiser for Kelly on 29th July 2016 - if you are able to assist with prize donations please contact me for further information and contact details.
