I’m raising funds for my friend Kelly after a terrible electric scooter accident that happened after a wonderful Halloween evening trick-or-treating with his family. Kelly fell and hit the curb face-first without being able to catch himself, and in an instant everything changed.
Kelly has almost a dozen broken bones in his face, including fractures in his jaw, both orbital bones, and multiple fractures in his nose. He also lost several teeth in the accident, and his front teeth went through his upper lip. On top of that, he has lacerations, cuts, and bruises all over his face. Right now, he can barely talk or eat, and he is unable to work or drive.
What makes this even harder is that Kelly has no health insurance. Hospital bills are already mounting, and he needs immediate facial reconstruction surgery to put everything back into place. Kelly is supposed to see the doctor this coming Monday to pay and schedule the surgery, and the family needs to come up with $25,000 up front for the procedure.
At the same time, Kelly’s family is trying to hold everything together with a baby due in under two weeks and a 9-year-old daughter to care for. This accident has put enormous pressure on them at the worst possible moment.
If you’re able to help, any donation will go toward Kelly’s upfront surgery costs and mounting medical bills. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much. Thank you for supporting Kelly and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
