I am creating this Go Fund Me page on behalf of my childhood friend, Kelly.  I first met Kelly and her family when I was in the 2nd grade, she only in kindergarten. She grew into a beautiful young lady, attending Cordova High School where she was a cheerleader and in the Homecoming court.  My point being that she has always been friendly and adored. Kelly grew up and had a pretty amazing life, getting married and giving birth to two adorable girls.  In 2009 Kelly fell ill and was diagnosed with kidney failure.  It was thought to be due to a virus however, we will never know why.  For 7 years Kelly and her family endured the pain, fear and struggles of dialysis.  Finally the call came and Kelly received a kidney transplant! Sadly, shortly after that, her marriage of 19 yrs fell apart.  This stay at home mom of 2 was soon forced to find an apartment for herself, daughters and their  rescue dogs.  Kelly was heartbroken and scared but ALIVE and had 2 girls to finish raising. She felt a calling to help others in need so she became an in home caregiver to 2 adults with intellectual disabilities.  She began volunteering at Sacramento Animal Care as a large dog walker and manners trainer.

  Then this year, she was diagnosed with stage 3 Inflammatory breast cancer.  She has undergone chemotherapy and is to have a mastectomy this month. She is extremely ill and unable to work.

  She has lost both of her parents in the last 6 years and she simply does not have family to help her.  Her only income is child support for her only minor daughter. She is still waiting on her disability to be approved. Luckily she has a wonderful boyfriend who works nights in a warehouse so he can help get her to appointments during the day.

  And like she hasn’t been kicked enough while she’s down, last night their only vehicle was stolen out of their apartment complex. It is a 2001 Ford Expedition.  She has a large deductible and it’s probably not worth very much anyway. I am looking to raise funds so that they can obtain a reliable source of transportation so that she can make it to her appointments and he can get to work.

  Of course any additional funds can help with financial hardship they are suffering.  I know I cannot cure her...but I would love to help them obtain a car.
