Hello, my name is Patti Holman; I am one of Kelly's many besties; there is a CREW of us. Many of you may already know that on February 18, Kelly was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We need to be here to support her, as she has done so thoughtlessly for so many. Kelly was born and raised in Whitebear Lake, MN. She is the self-employed owner-operator of Kelly & Crew Designs, everything encompassing fashion, flowers and findings. Bayfield, WI, has been home for her and the boutique studio for 14 years.
Kelly lived on Madeline Island for 30 years and was a massive part of the community. It doesn't take long to realize that her most significant accomplishment is being a mother when visiting with her. While living on Madeline Island, Kelly met and married Ronny Nelson. Together they have raised their son Harrison Nelson. Harrison is the light that shines brightly in Kelly. One day while talking about our sons, she gave me that big Kelly smile and said, "Well, I got the best part of Ronny, our son Harrison."
She ran a gift shop called Island Thyme right by the ferry landing for many years. One of the most creative people, Kelly can walk into a field of wildflowers and come back with the most amazing floral arrangements you have ever seen! Her zest for life is apparent when she walks into the room. Vibrant, innovative, creative, classy, spunky and a laugh and smile that lights up a room. Mom, sister, daughter, auntie and friend. She would give you the shoes off her feet (and has) for anyone in need. Now she needs our help. Please consider donating to this beautiful woman
Kelly, Dan (my husband), and I will be traveling to Rochester, Minnesota, on Sunday, March 6. She will meet with a pancreatic cancer team; the cancer team is working on treatment options for Kelly. She will make a decision, and treatment will start. Kelly's insurance will only cover about 60 percent of her medical bills. Kelly has spearheaded many fundraisers for people over many years; it's time to raise and be Kelly's Crew. #FightPrayLove
