As many of you know our dear friend Kelly has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for the past 5 years. However, Kelly is no stranger to this fight. Previously, she has battled and overcame uterine cancer, basal cell carcinoma and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid. Kelly has endured over 100 surgeries and procedures, 370 rounds of chemotherapy & radiation, side effects from dozens of costly medications, the loss of her hair, hundreds of doctors appointments, not to mention the multiple secondary conditions as a result of her cancer treatment: such as her Type1 Diabetes that requires the use of an insulin pump, her severe neuropathy & debilitating pain .The never ending emotional life & death roller coaster that she rides every day, with its heartbreaking lows has NEVER broken her spirit. She always has a smile on her face, a positive outlook on life, and joy in her heart. Recently, Kelly has learned that she has reached a point in her care where her cancer is progressing very rapidly & very aggressively. Unfortunately, she has stopped responding to conventional treatments & has exhausted all other medical options. We are currently seeking new and advanced cancer treatments. However, these measures are not fully covered under her medical insurance. Her estimated  out of pocket costs for treatment are in upwards of $50K. These alternative treatments are in hopes of curing or extending her life so that she may have more time with her husband and daughters. We want to do what we can to help our friend, as she has always been there to help anyone in need.
