I'm setting up this Birthday fundraiser to hopefully raise some money to help PakaDora association-PDA, to help the street cats.

PDA are a volunteer, registered Non-profitable charity, located in the Loule and Silves District of the Algarve, Portugal.

Not only do PDA help cats in their care, they also help other charities in need.

PDA was founded in 2022 by Gabi Shepherd with the support from Alastair Huddart.

After self funding for 2 years and after seeing the enormous amount of stray, pregnant/injured/sick cats,un-wanted kittens,and Dogs, they decided to take action!

As of 2023, PDA now manage 9 street cat colonies, thats over 215 cats!

Due to irresponsible HUMANS this number is only increasing by the day!

PDA use the TNR method when possible, thats Trap, Neuter & Return.

This means, any street cats that rock up and join the already packed colonies, they trap them humanley ( usually entised with food), they PAY for the cat to be neutered/spade, wormed/flead and reuturned to the colonie with a full tummy if possible. Sometimes life saving surgery is needed, this also needs paying for...

Not every cat can be returned to their cat colony because they're either too sick, too pregnant, too young or have sadly tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus ).

They then go to a foster home ( if there is one available ) to be cared for un-till a fur-ever home becomes available.

Did you know, on average, female cats can have up to 3-4 litters a year!

Each litter can have between 4-10 kittens!

Thats a possible 40 un-wanted kittens a year, just from 1 cat!

Let's not forget cats can get pregnant as young as 4 months old!

PakaDora Association-PDA, do their up most best to make a difference in an already very difficult world.

It doesnt matter where we help, just as long as we help!

Life on the street is hard for cats.

No where to sleep, nothing to eat, intentionial harm or even death caused by HUMANS, traffic accidents, the scorching heat, wild fires, storms and floods...

Theres only so much PDA can do, physically,emotionally and financially..

Currently PDA need to re-build the fencing that was destroyed in one of the recent storms. This is really important that this is done to PROTECT the street cats from all sorts of dangers.

PDA rely on donations to be able to keep caring for the cats.

I've made this Birthday fundraiser for a few reasons, but one reason is to give me hope, hope that there is still some kindness in this difficlut world.

I personally,haven't expierenced much kindness in the last few years and there isnt much i can do about it, but one thing i can do is show kindness to the street cats with your help.

If you are in a position to make a donation, please do so. Anything as little as £1 can contribute to saving a cats life.
