Dear Friends and Family of Kellyn Weber,
Many of you have heard that our dear Kellyn has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. She began feeling unwell several months ago, experiencing some vision changes, funny sounds in her ear, and headaches on and off. She initially thought it may be due to stress and lack of sleep, but it persisted so she went in for an MRI. On May 4th, she was found to have a brain tumor the size of a tennis ball. All went quickly after that. She met with her neurosurgeon, was admitted to the hospital, and had brain surgery within 48 hours. The tumor was determined to be a glioblastoma, a highly aggressive type of brain cancer.
Due mainly to her positive attitude and determination, she has recovered quickly from her surgery. She has had a flurry of visits to establish a plan of attack for this cancer. After she heals from her surgery, she is preparing for 6 weeks of daily chemotherapy and radiation. Then after a short break, she will have chemotherapy 5 days every month for the following year.
In true Kellyn form, she has kept a smile on her face and God in her heart through this all. She has been making each and every one of her caregivers laugh out loud at her antics and her famous one-liners. She has strength that all who know her are in awe of.
Many of you may know that Elise, Kellyn and Brian's daughter, suffers from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA). As a true advocate, Kellyn is very involved in the JRA Foundation. Due to being a champion in the JRA community, the Weber family was awarded a scholarship to attend the annual conference in Phoenix, AZ in July. They were soooo excited about this! Unfortunately, this will land right in the middle of her chemotherapy/radiation treatment, so her oncologist advised against going. To make up for this, we are raising money to send Kellyn, Brian, and Elise on a Disney trip. Kellyn NEEDS this awesome experience to look forward to after her gueling treatments. Elise NEEDS this time to spend with her mom and dad after the rough summer ahead. Their family NEEDS this memory together. This is where your help comes in. We NEED YOU to make this happen. Please consider donating; little or large, all donations will help! Please share to anyone who loves Kellyn or has been affected by cancer and would like to help this amazing family.
Thanks and God Bless!
