Update from Jeremy:
Where do I start... I can't express how heartbreaking, inspiring and humbling this last week has been. Meeting Calvin and having the privilege of loving him for four days was the greatest experience of my life. And the outpouring of love and support from not only our amazing friends and family, but also from complete strangers, has been unexpected and as I said... Humbling. I want to wrap my arms around each and every one of you and tell you each how much your kind words and love has meant to us these last few days.
And then there is this gofundme page... The last thing on our minds has been money, and this has been overwhelming. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! Your contributions will help us get Calvin back home to Kansas City and go towards the funeral and burial services. We also plan on starting a charity with any remaining funds to benefit other, less fortunate, families that have been afflicted with this awful condition.
Kelly and I are so grateful to every single one of you and we hope that our experience can somehow touch the right person and make a difference in the world. I will be living my life in a much different way after the lessons learned this last week. And I hope someone out there gleams a glimmer of hope from our story and finds the strength to persevere whatever it is life has thrown in their path.
We love you all and will never forget the love and support you have bestowed upon us.

Calvin James Long arrived at 5:21pm on Saturday November 28th 2015. He came into this world with the odds against him and all the love in the world. Calvin was born with a chromosomal condition Trisomy 13, otherwise known as Patau syndrome. Calvin's parents, Kelly and Jeremy, fought alongside their son in the NICU until he was ready to be at peace. Tragically, that peace came 4 days later. No parent should have to bury a child and no parent is really ever ready to. I'm reaching out to the world, their friends & family to help my dear friends in their hour of need. These two are the kindest, warmest couple and any donation to help them put their son to rest in their hometown would be appreciated. I can't think of a family more deserving of your help in the wake of this unimaginable tragedy.
With love.
