Hello everyone! For those of you that don't know me, my name is Kelly Pleva, I am 24 years old, and I am an aspiring professional opera singer.

This past December, I graduated from the Steinhardt School at New York University with my Masters of Music in Classical Voice. While living in New York City, I was given many wonderful opportunities to perform and finally experience music for the first time outside of my small hometown in Pennsylvania. Since then, I have been seeking out every opportunity possible to allow myself to grow as both a person and as a musician. With thousands of programs available to young singers, and thousands of young singers eagerly awaiting an acceptance into these programs, the caliber of the programs are incredibly high and the acceptances very limited. After months of putting myself out there, I was finally accepted into a program that I never dreamed would truly become a reality for me; the Franco-American Vocal Academy in Salzburg, Austria.

Not only was I granted acceptance into this globally acclaimed program, I was also fortunate enough to be awarded a generous scholarship, as well as the opportunity to perform the role of Madame Hertz in the fully staged production of Mozart's comic opera Der Schauspieldirektor. For those of you that know me and my love of Mozart, being able to bring a piece of his to life in the place he called home is truly an opportunity of a lifetime. This experience will not only allow me to grow as a musician and as a performer, but will also grant me cultural experiences that will greatly impact the rest of my life.

While I am in Salzburg, I will be taking daily classes in German language, diction, voice, and attend weekly master classes, and also have the opportunity to perform a recital all on top of being granted the wonderful role of Madame Hertz. This program, with the training and experiences it will give me, will truly allow me to grow into the performer I know I can be.

Although I have been awarded a scholarship to help offset the cost of tuition, I still need your help in allowing my dreams to become a reality. All of the money raised will go towards my tuition and housing during the program, daily meals, and airfare. The program runs from July 9th - August 11th with my tuition being paid by the end of June. I know this is a very small amount of time to raise the money, but I truly believe that with all of your help it is absolutely possible.
